Politics & Policies

A number of issues have arisen in recent years that will affect the future of the sport of coarse fishing in Scotland. The primary fisheries legislation in Scotland does not cater for coarse fish and there are likely to be changes in the near future. It is also becoming more important to liaise with many outside bodies to make sure that the interests of coarse anglers are effectively represented.

The S.F.C.A. has had to become more politically aware and more active. We are involved in a number of initiatives, building the credibility and stature of the sport in Scotland by bringing coarse anglers together to state our case.

Ron Woods is S.F.C.A. Policy Officer.  If you have comments or suggestions regarding any of the subjects below, or want to take an active part in the discussions, contact Ron direct by e-mail.
