After a great result of 5th on Day 1, Scotland drew poorly on Day 2 and ended up just outside the top 10 in 11th place.  Team manager Chris Paton said - 'Having got ourselves into medal contention on day one finishing in fifth position with 62 points we were disappointed to end up in 11th after two days. Our day two draw didnąt help one bit especially in A and B sections where we took 58 points. Even George Glen drew two pegs from Des Shipp, and beat him but still only managed 25th in section! Iąm sure a better draw in  these sections would have seen us a lot closer to the medals.'

'Practising had been really good for us and knew our attack would be based around carassio and wild carp. We had a great day on Thursday catching lots of fish over sweetcorn feed. Corn skins or floating maggots was best as hookbaits as the fish preferred a bait to be quite light. The same day happened to be when a lot of spectators were standing behind Jamie Masson, his bank runner (Steve Spurr) hooked a bream on a top kit down the edge but didnąt lift his pole to show anyone. Then Jamie hooked a 2kg carp fishing long but lost it as he was about to net it. He then proceeded to net the bream to the crowd's amazement.'

'Day one was great finishing fifth even with two badą results, Jamie Masson (18th) and Brian Clark (20th). I was hoping for a day two surge but the draw bag defeated us. Our tactics were right though with Jamie coming 7th and Ewan Weed coming 8th in their sections. I was disappointed to see us in 17th on the day but my anglers beat some very good anglers near them so they didnąt perform badly.'

'Overall, 11th position is an improvement on last year but after winning the Celtic Cup this year, Team Scotland were hoping for a top ten or even a top five finish. Bring on Holland next year.'
